Project Scope: Brand Identity Design (Logo, Color Palette, Typography, Marketing Materials)
Objective: Gozaimasu Beats is an independent lo-fi artist and music producer known for blending chill, atmospheric beats with Japanese-inspired aesthetics. The goal was to create a logo and brand identity that reflects the artist’s sound—memorable, easy-going, and deeply rooted in lo-fi culture. The design needed to be minimal yet memorable, appealing to both casual listeners and serious music enthusiasts.
Research & Moodboard
To capture the essence of Gozaimasu Beats, I explored traditional Japanese calligraphy and typography, seeking a balance between edginess and fluidity. I researched anime titles as well and noticed that several anime titles have their names in Japanese and in English. Lo-fi music often evokes a nostalgic, relaxed atmosphere, so I aimed for a design that resonated with that mood. Elements like brushstroke-style lettering and gradients played a key role in shaping the brand’s identity.

Sketches & Concept Development
The logo features a custom brushstroke-style wordmark that says Gozaimau Beats in Japanese, inspired by traditional Japanese calligraphy but with a modern, urban twist. The gradient from red to black conveys the raw, authentic feel of lo-fi beats, while the balanced composition keeps it approachable and easy-going.
